Legacy giving provides you with the opportunity to support a charity or cause you believe in, often in a way that you might not be able to accomplish during your lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>What can you do to leave a legacy gift?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare a Will.<\/li>\n<li>Leave a gift in your Will for the charitable organization that is making a difference in your life or the life of someone close to you. You can choose to leave a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your assets.<\/li>\n<li>Purchase a new life insurance policy naming a charitable organization as the beneficiary or name a charitable organization as the beneficiary of an existing life insurance policy.<\/li>\n<li>Name a charitable organization as a beneficiary of your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) or Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) or pension plan.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage family and friends to leave gifts in their Will to a charitable organization.<\/li>\n<li>Ask your financial or estate planning advisor to include charitable giving as part of your overall financial plan.<\/li>\n<li>Consult the appropriate professional advisors to ensure the type of gift maximizes the advantages both to you and to the charitable organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Leaving a gift to Parkinson Canada in your Will is a simple and powerful way to be remembered.<\/p>\n<p>You have the ability to provide hope for people living with Parkinson\u2019s disease and create a legacy that will last forever.
