{"id":37293,"date":"2022-07-07T09:13:25","date_gmt":"2022-07-07T13:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.parkinson.ca\/?p=37293"},"modified":"2022-07-07T09:13:25","modified_gmt":"2022-07-07T13:13:25","slug":"parkinson-canada-to-release-the-first-canadian-edition-of-essential-resource-for-canadians-living-with-parkinsons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archiveparkinson.thedev.ca\/fr\/parkinson-canada-to-release-the-first-canadian-edition-of-essential-resource-for-canadians-living-with-parkinsons\/","title":{"rendered":"Parkinson Canada to release the first Canadian edition of essential resource for Canadians living with Parkinson&rsquo;s"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>In partnership with the Davis Phinney Foundation, a long-standing resource, the Every Victory Counts\u00ae manual, is getting a Canadian edition.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TORONTO, July 7, 2022 &#8211; Parkinson Canada in partnership with the Davis Phinney Foundation is excited to launch the first Canadian version of the Every Victory Counts\u00ae manual, a comprehensive resource aimed at helping the 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinson&rsquo;s to maintain and improve their quality of life.<\/p>\n<p>First published by the Davis Phinney Foundation in 2010 and now in its sixth edition, Parkinson Canada will soon release the first fully Canadianized version of the manual which includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Canadian Parkinson&rsquo;s statistics accompanied by the personal stories of Canadians managing various motor and non-motor symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>The different treatments available in\u00a0<span class=\"xn-location\">Canada<\/span>\u00a0and medications approved by Health Canada while respecting that availability can differ from province to province.<\/li>\n<li>The variety of options available to Canadians regarding long-term care and legal preparations, providing Canadians impacted by Parkinson&rsquo;s with the information needed to make the right plans for them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0They&rsquo;ve thought of everything,\u00a0\u00bb said\u00a0<span class=\"xn-person\">Joe van Koeverden<\/span>, member of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=3587732-1&amp;h=825583937&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Farchiveparkinson.thedev.ca%2Fabout-us%2Fparkinson-advisory-council%2F&amp;a=Parkinson+Advisory+Council\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Parkinson Advisory Council<\/a>\u00a0and Davis Phinney Foundation Ambassador. \u00ab\u00a0It&rsquo;s a complete, easy-to-read manual that covers what you need to know about Parkinson&rsquo;s. From your diagnosis to the progression of the challenges you may face on your journey with the disease. The chapters are planned and written by some 50 recognized Parkinson&rsquo;s experts. Symptoms include a resting tremor, slowness of movement, muscle rigidity, and balance problems. Non-motor symptoms can include anxiety, depression, and sleep problems.
